Beginners Luck

I’m a regular guy living in New York City, who like millions of others has gone deep down the rabbit hole in the world of Whiskey. What started out with a lucky Pappy Van Winkle lottery win in 2015 (more about that on my Instagram pages first post), has turned into a passion for me that has exceeded all others that came before.

I like to talk about Whiskey, specifically Bourbon, and here you’ll find some of my serious, and not so serious thoughts. I’ve been lucky enough to explore a large variety of Bourbons, ranging from my initial go-to of Makers Mark on the rocks, all the way to tasting classes introducing me to the likes of Black Maple Hill 16 year, and a whole lot in-between. I’ve also noticed what the blood sport of finding and enjoying the rare stuff has become. We’ll cover everything from what goes into my favorite cocktails, what I reach for on a store shelf when I don’t want to cut into my savings account, what I have my eye on when it comes to that splurge purchase during allocated release season, and much more.
